When you eventually do want to win an F5B league event or even want to get a spot on the UK team your model and equipment will have to fit around the following rules as layed down by the CIAM and FAI. Total of the airframe / esc / motor / prop would be = ~940 (equivalent euros) + 150 + 180 + 75 = £1345 (Then the build piece would be additional) The above is a top end comp winning setup straight out of the box. During the gap between the rounds Alan flew the e-schwing from sloperacer.co.uk With approx 1600W setup it flew to 28 legs with a very interesting snap roll at base B So all down to Rd3. Tony flew his low power setup very smoothly to post 28 legs. Steve posted 43 legs and then went into orbit for the rest of the flight. Visit website

F5b isnt the same as f3b. F5b doesnt have a timed speed section, although I bet the models are blimmin fast.eF3b doesnt use motor restarts during the round, but F5b allows you to use the motor several times, if I understand correctly, but you loose points for doing so. Thats why F5b models are so powerful - to minimise motor run time. Visit website
